It is easy to record something and convert it to a podcast. Making something others will want to see or hear is a different matter.
Remember, a podcast is just an internet version of radio or TV - and it is hard to make good radio or TV!
You may have your own ideas, or could use those suggested below. Write down your script and practice it.
Remember there will be no interviewer so it will be up to you to make it clear what you are talking about.
Choose a few questions and write them down with your answers.
Make it clear from your answer what you are talking about. Scripting a podcast is not easy to do well.
Listeners will not know about you or the things you speak about. Describe everything clearly for them.
Radio and TV shows have meetings once the writers have planned the show. The script is discussed and changes or fresh ideas can be added - or bad ideas cut out.
One person should read their script. That means saying what you plan to record, not just a rough description.
Everyone should offer any suggestions they have. Your script might benefit from some of these. Make notes of any changes you want to try out.
Involving other people is a good idea. After all, the point of podcasts is to be interesting to listeners.
If you want to use music you will need to get it first. Your tutor will help you with that.
When you are ready, start Audacity, put on your headset and make sure you are comfortable. Press the red circular "record" button and speak.
Your voice will be recorded as you talk and you will see it fill up the window. When you reach the end, press the square orange "stop" button.
Export the recording as an MP3 file - the sort used for podcasts. Your tutor will make sure you have a plugin that may be needed.
Save the file to floppy disk and then play it on the PC. If you would like to, add it to your own page in the wiki.
